It’s easy to assume that the biggest difference in GeoTrenchers would be the front half with the digging chain. On the contrary, it’s the powerhead it’s attached to that makes all the difference. 

Each GeoTrencher has different levels of power output, emissions, vibration suppression, and more. It’s easy to fall into the mindset that they all perform the same task, therefore they only vary in length. However, in reality, there are models that differ not only budget but also in professional or personal use. For example:

An All-Rounder GeoTrencher – Husqvarna K-Series

This is our all-rounder GeoTrencher which we recommend for all uses. It’s our generalist line of products that stacks up to any job you give it as well as being the best line of products for the every-man with trenching obligations to take care of. 

The Husqvarna K770 & K970 models are some of our lightest an most compact machines with a very superior power-to-weight ratio, making them among the easiest to use out of all our GeoTrenchers.

What’s more, is that they’re engineered to last up to/over 15% longer than the average GeoTrencher whilst having a no-load speed of up to 9350 RPM for the most demanding of applications.

The ignition coil with the start-support function actually stores electricity for easier start ups which is an added bonus next to the carburetor that has improved deco-valve and metering spring both of which have added to precise fuel regulation at start-up and reduced flooding.

The Makita Powerheads have varying levels of comfort features, but universally across all of them, The Makita Powerheads were made with long days in mind, meaning they were built with a certain level of comfort at the forefront of their designs. For example:

These GeoTrenchers have the highest power-to-weight ratio. 

Starting with our most powerful unit the Stihl TS 700 Powerhead. With a power output of 98.5cc, this model can dredge through the earth at a max power at an operating speed of 5.0 kW 9,300rpm. Even their smallest GeoTrencher in the Stihl range clocks in at an engine speed of 9000rpm weighing in at only 13kg. For context, that’s 5kg lighter than the TS700 and is only 300rpm less. 

The Eco-Friendliness Of A High Power Engine

The GeoTrenchers in this line are equipped with the STIHL 2-MIX Engine. Built with an advanced stratified charge system, designed to boost power whilst reducing consumption immensely as a side effect of significantly lowering unburned hydrocarbons in the exhaust.
